The Creation

Give your dream a face. Jochen Benzinger transforms in his creative way the ideas of the customer into a truly unique and one-of-a-kind piece of jewelry in Swiss quality. At the very beginning is the idea and the design. Jochen Benzinger always develops and designs the unique piece with the thought of how he can make the most beautiful out of the movement in terms of craftsmanship. Hand-guilloched and hand-engraved watches combine techniques that lead to incomparable unique watches. Antique Swiss movements of the highest quality are also used.

Hand Guilloching

A technique that lives on and looks to the future thanks to Jochen Benzinger. Almost forgotten today, from the 16th to the 18th century a large part of the high aristocracy was trained in the "royal craft" of artistic turning, from which guilloché has its origins. The Swiss watchmaker Brequet also used one to cut his distinctive dials. Towards the beginning of the 20th century, the art of guilloché found its peak with the court jeweler of the Russian Czar, Fabergé. His Fabergé eggs became world famous. Today, thanks to the rise of mechanical movements, Benzinger creates high-quality Swiss models with the hand-guilloched dials.

Hand Engraving

Engraving experienced a particular peak in the 15th and 16th centuries in Europe. Weapons and armor were decorated with special devotion. A new heyday began with Albrecht Dürer. He used the same tools for cutting copperplate blocks that Jochen Benzinger still uses daily in his workshop to transform a Swiss movement into an artpiece. Only a few craftsmen today have mastered the art of engraving. People appreciate genuine craftsmanship in our fast-paced times. It is the luxury of today that goes back to the beginning and is characterized by handwork done with skill, patience and thoughtfulness.

Hand Skeletonizing

Skeletonizing allows a glimpse into the deepest processes of the movement. In this type of finishing, parts of the movement or dial are removed. The resulting windows bring the soul of the watch into focus and give it great character. Combined with guilloching and engraving, skeletonization, which is done with a goldsmith's saw, gives the piece uniqueness and incomparable fascination.
